Threatening domestic violence victim - Deputy Crotty

Lake County Sheriff Deputy Crotty confronted a domestic violence and stalking victim in 2005 and while she was photographing her assailants vehicle parked on her street with her assailant nowhere in sight and stated he would personally contact then Judge Pope and have this victims protection order rescinded. When she stated that she was merely doing what she had been advised to do, and that was obtain evidence that her assailant was indeed in the area and might very well be in violation of the protection order, Crotty became foul mouthed towards the victim and said she needed to leave or he would then arrest her. The victim was parked off the road in rural Lake County, was not impeding travel on any roads, and in fact had been given sole use of the residence by Judge Pope. One must wonder why Deputy Crotty would treat a victim in this fashion after witnessing the brutal slaying of former Deputy Koester? Or why this victim would spend the next 8+ years trying to protect herself and her minor child to no avail? The only remedy for this victim was to move as far as legally allowed from her assailant's residence in order to obtain some peace. She still does not have that to this day. It is apparent by reading several blogs on this site, you have dismayed many individuals. First let me say this, I'm not one of your employees and never have been. In fact, I can take great comfort in knowing that I can speak from the outside looking in. It is obvious you have forgotten the meaning of several words and I'm here to help you with them. First word will be SHERIFF:the law-enforcement officer of a county or other civil subdvision of a state. Next word is INTEGRITY:adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. Next word, HONESTY: truthfulness, sincerity, or frankness. Next word, HONOR: honesty, fairness, or integrity in one's beliefs and actions. I would also like to point out the Law Enforcement Code of Ethics to you, just in case you have forgotten: Law Enforcement Code of Ethics AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER, my fundamental duty is to serve mankind; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation, and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the Constitutional rights of all men to liberty, equality and justice. I WILL keep my private life unsullied as an example to all; maintain courageous calm in the face of danger, scorn, or ridicule; develop self-restraint; and be constantly mindful of the welfare of others. Honest in thought and deed in both my personal and official life, I will be exemplary in obeying the laws of the land and the regulations of my department. Whatever I see or hear of a confidential nature or that is confided to me in my official capacity will be kept ever secret unless revelation is necessary in the performance of my duty. I WILL never act officiously or permit personal feelings, prejudices, animosities or friendships to influence my decisions. With no compromise for crime and with relentless prosecution of criminals, I will enforce the law courteously and appropriately without fear or favor, malice or ill will, never employing unnecessary force or violence and never accepting gratuities. I RECOGNIZE the badge of my office as a symbol of public faith, and I accept it as a public trust to be held so long as I am true to the ethics of the police service. Mr. Borders, I do not care about your how you choose to live your personnel life as you are entitled to that. I do care that you have forgotten everything else mentioned above. I would like you to look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself do you like what you see looking back at you. I believe if you truly soul searched, you would come to the conclusion that it really isn't a pretty picture. I truly believe you really don't know how disarrayed your agency is. You have deputies stacking up on calls that are minor, the response time to major calls are absurd and then you have certain ones who do unethical things and are still permitted to retain their jobs. These things are just the tip of the iceburg. I won't go into everything, but I just wanted you to know that there are people who really do know what is going on. I hope that someone how you might be enlightened on what I have said, since it is somewhat obvious you have forgotten the oath you took. Just maybe you might find some salvation and then again you might not. The last thing I can do for you is pray....

My story - fear, shame, loss of self, and my voyage to redemption

My story is going to be posted in stallments. Many times it might seem I go back in history several years only to come back to the present time. This will be necessary though in order to give the full effect of the bias, corruption, sex discrimination against female crime victims, specifically bias and prejudice against female victims of domestic violence. I will first ask you to close your eyes. Picture a woman who has faced insurmountable odds and thinks that she has a great life. She has a husband who while a slight bit odd in his views of women has up until 2005 been responsible, has worked every day of the marriage, supported this woman so she can work out of the home and give their daughter the ability to be at home with her mother. Picture this woman's bewilderment at the sudden change in her husband's demeanor and treatment of her. Imagine her shock and confusion when he starts assaulting her. He grabs her by the hair and throws her around their house. He demands his 'conjugal marital rights' to her and forces himself on her in extremely foul and hurtful ways, forcing her to engage in unwanted sexual contact. This would often leave this woman in severe physical agony. Now imagine this woman's shock when these physical and sexual assaults continue and escalate to the point of extreme fear in this woman. She fears for her life and the life of their child. She has tried to salvage this marriage. She has tried to appease this man. She has done everything she can think to do and when she is allowed a brief respite away from the house with the daughter, she is faced with the daunting task of explaining to the few friends she has remaining, the multiple bruises she has on her neck and her arms. How does she explain the long sleeve turtleneck worn in 80 degree weather? How does she explain her otherwise fun carefree attitude is now replaced with fear and an always on edge attitude? How does she explain the sudden gray shadows under her eyes? How does she explain the loss of self esteem to these people? One of these friends realizes what is happening and tries to counsel this woman. Leave him, she says. There are laws about this in Florida. They will arrest him, she states. HE IS COMITTING A CRIME, she yells! This man holds a gun to his wife's head and insist there will be no divorce. You see this pit I just dug? He yells at the woman, his wife, this person he promised to love honor and cherish? THIS IS YOUR GRAVE! YOU WILL NOT EVER LEAVE ME! Now imagine the shock after making several report to Lake County Florida Sheriff's deputies when this man is not arrested, never charged, never goes to court, and continues with what appears to be the blessing of Gary Borders and many of his paid deputies to continue his terrorization of this woman/mother and you daughter. Imagine if you will that this is your daughter, sister, mother, aunt, cousin, niece, or friend. What would you do? What would you say? Well, I am that woman. I am the mother to that child. And this is what I am doing. I plan to bring the corrupt and biased LCSO and Sheriff Gary Borders and every corrupt officer and employee to light on this blog. As my screen name says, I am no longer that victim. And i refuse to allow a bunch of patriarchal, mysogynistic, power hungry wanna be peace officers take my dignity from me. I will bring this into light and I WILL expose every last wrong action by every person afilliated in any way with LCSO and Sheriff Gary Borders.

Welcome to LCSO bias

Welcome to Lake County Florida Sheriff Bias. First a little information about LCSO. The Lake County Sheriff's Office is largest law enforcement agency in Lake County, Florida, United States. Per the State of Florida Constitution, the sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer of both the incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county. The current sheriff is Gary S. Borders who was appointed by former Governor Jeb Bush following the death of Sheriff Chris Daniels in 2006. He was elected in 2008. In November 2007, Sheriff Gary S. Borders led the agency to be awarded with a certificate of accreditation from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, consequently, both the Law Enforcement and Corrections divisions of the Lake County Sheriff's Office are now accredited. I plan to share my experience with the LCSO on this blog and she the experiences of others on this page as well.
